The four curious kids of the story find Uncle Saman's old letters to their grandma. In this lettres, Uncle Saman describes his adventurous trip to the Netherlands, where he meets Vincent van Gogh and becomes his friend. He talks about the days when van Gogh was busy working on 2 of his masterpieces, the Starry Night and the Sunflowers. He also writes about van Gogh's friendship with Paul Gauguin and the relationship between him and his supportive brother, Theo. Finally, in the last letter, he describes van Gogh's tragic death.
